Remove the Bloat with ROM Cleaner for One X, EVO 4G LTE
Once rooted with a custom recovery, the door flies open, and users can do pretty much whatever they want to their device. Many will simply stay with the stock ROM and enjoy the benefits of being rooted. That doesn’t mean they don’t have options as to what they put on their devices. One very popular task among rooted users is to remove bloatware. For HTC devices, such as the HTC One X and the HTC EVO 4G LTE, you can not only remove bloat, but you can remove HTC Sense as well—though some will say that they are one and the same. What makes this particular debloater cool is that it uses the AROMA installer to allow you to customize your debloat, similar to what we saw on the Xperia PLAY a few days ago.
The script was originally released for the HTC Desire HD some time ago by XDA Recognized Developer Patrics83Â along with several others, and then it was ported to the One X and EVO LTE just a short time ago. Both scripts do pretty much the same thing: add and remove various things. More specifically:
All Scripts in a unique AROMA Installer
ROM Cleaner – Will remove as much as possible without breaking HTC Sense Launcher and Widgets! This is the best way to come close to a no-sense ROM and still use HTC Sense!
ROM Cleaner NO-Sense – Will remove pretty much everything and replace HTC Sense launcher
with APEX, NOVA, GO Launcher EX, Holo, Holo HD or Zeam it’s all up to you!
Fully compatible with Sense 4.0, 4.1 and AOSP ROMs
ROMCleaner app-list in a user friendly format
Backup Tool will make your flashing like “a walk in the park”
Follow our “Quick Guide” in the AROMA Installer under “How-to-use” and you will know when and how to run the scripts
So whether your goal is to take out everything that isn’t HTC Sense, or take out everything including HTC Sense, the script is pretty much a one stop shop for removing bloat from your device. It has a good track record as well, as we’ve been writing about this script since its infancy.
